Kanye West cancels Amsterdam show

After announcing that he would not be participating in a scheduled performance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last night, Rapper Kanye West cancelled his show in Amsterdam set for this Monday, according to an e-mail from a TicketMaster subsidiary.  The Rumormonger believes other shows have been cancelled as well, including his Paris gig on 17 November, and Brussels on 18 November.

We would not be surprised if many of the shows on the U.K. leg of his European tour get cancelled as well.

Sadly, it is believed West is having a real tough time coming to grips with the death of his mother.  His mother, Dr. Donda West died last week while undergoing cosmetic surgery.  West, 58, was believed to be getting a breast reduction surgery and a tummy tuck at the time.

The doctor who performed the surgery, Dr. Jan Adams, is currently being criticized by many for proceeding with the operation even after other plastic surgeons refused to do so.  Previously, the California medical board recommended revoking Adams’ license, according to E! Online.  They also cite several malpractice lawsuits against Adams, as well as multiple drunk driving arrests.  Adams has also been accused of beating his ex-wife.

We in Amsterdam wish West the best, and hope he comes through this experience stronger.  We look forward to seeing him play at the Heinekin Music Hall here soon.
